If the city is awarded funds from the grant, it is hoping to construct bathrooms and a pavilion near Heritage Park's pickleball courts.

The Adrian City Commission opened its 2024 meeting schedule with a near half-hour discussion last week looking at the best approach for opening Bohn Pool this year.

Because of boiler problems, Bohn Pools water wont be heated. Admission wont be charged to city and Adrian school district residents.

It could cost $2 million to $4 million to renovate Bohn Pool. Options for a new pool range from $6.5 to $13 million in construction costs.

Adrian city staff and engineering contractors are “tirelessly working toward a solution" to mechanical problems at Bohn Pool, the city said.

Due to "unforeseen circumstances," Bohn Pool will be operated the city of Adrian instead of the Frank and Shirley Dick Family YMCA.

While it’ll take decades for all 280 million U.S. gas-powered vehicles to be replaced by electrics, installing chargers now at gas stations helps keep them relevant as the transition occurs.

To find some kind of relief from the high temperatures this week, there will be free admission through Friday, June 17, at Bohn Pool in Adrian. The pool was at capacity as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The Adrian-based Bohn Pool Waverunners summer swim team won the OMSSL league title July 31 and was honored last week by the Adrian City Commission.
