The board of the Park City edition of Monopoly includes Round Valley, a swath of protected open space owned by City Hall. The inclusion of Round Valley as well as the McPolin Barn on the board is an ironic twist since the strategy of Monopoly is to acquire properties and then develop them.

Like the previous one, this groomer will be used by the city and Mountain Trails Foundation to maintain the community’s multi-use trails, specifically the Round Valley and Bonanza Flat open spaces.

Summit County is trying to figure out what to do with the 910 Cattle Ranch property.  And the Ure Ranch property. Armed with $50 million open space bond voters approved in 2021, county government has been on a buying spree.

Crediting their new fundraising campaign, the For the Future Fund, Summit Land Conservancy reported Thursday that Park City’s local accredited land trust has placed more than 500 acres in the past month into conservation easements and plans to protect an additional 1,000 acres before the end of the year.

The taxpaying residents of Park City are subsidizing the larger communitys use of these facilities and are bearing disproportionate costs for construction and maintenance.

Park City's focal point is once again the Snow Park redevelopment at the base of Deer Valley, where the latest plans hinge on the town vacating right-of-way on parts of Deer Valley Drive.
