You don't often get a group of print buyers from a range of disciplines together in the same room, but that’s exactly what happened after the judging session for the PrintWeek Awards 2023 quality categories on the first day of Jury Week on 5 October. After the event, Disha Chakraborty asks the judges what their biggest challenges are, how book factories can help them and what still gets them excited about books.

Pragati’s samples were all large-format books with multiple finishing options, printed on a Komori Lithone 740, on different specialty papers of varied grammages. Pre-press is Esko workflow and Kodak Trendsetter CTP in 250-lpi. The run length varies from 500 to 25,000 copies. 

For a printer and a packaging converter, the quality of jobs is what makes them stand out from the competition. PrintWeek Awards will be celebrating these jobs for its consistent production excellence.
