The Southern Boone Eagles split a pair of games Friday to start the Missouri River Festival, beating St. Charles West 6-3 before losing 4-2 to Pembroke Hill.

The high school football regular season ends with four Jefferson City-area teams listed in the state rankings. The Helias Crusaders, the Blair Oaks Falcons, the Southern Boone Eagles and the Tipton Cardinals will each begin the postseason as state-ranked teams in this week’s Missouri Media Rankings, which were released Monday night.

It’s a state-ranked matchup between the Class 3 No. 1 Falcons and the Class 3 No. 10 Eagles. There’s a chance for Blair Oaks to move up to the coveted No. 1 spot in the district standings. And, most importantly, the Tri-County Conference championship is up for grabs, as both teams enter the game with 5-0 records in Tri-County play.

The Russellville Indians will celebrate Homecoming tonight when they take on the Polo Panthers. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Russellville Indians will open their home schedule tonight when they take on the Diamond Wildcats. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. Russellville is coming off a 36-6 loss last week at Van-Far after opening the season with a 49-0 victory against Missouri Military Academy.

The Russellville Indians are getting some state-wide attention. For the first time in program history, Russellville received votes in the Missouri Media Rankings this week.
