COEUR dALENE, Idaho - The Coeur dAlene school board voted unanimously Monday evening to change the 2024/2025 schedule and re-zone elementary students, following the closure of Borah Elementary this fall.

I have four kids in the Coeur d’Alene School District. Two of them are at Borah Elementary, the school on the chopping block. We are deeply saddened that the school might close. This would be a huge loss to the students and our community.

A neighborhood school that has been open since 1950 is in jeopardy of closing and being repurposed as the Coeur d'Alene School District considers ways to balance its $6 million shortfall.
