donald trump is saying about the possibility that he may run as an independent if i don t know, he s not treated well. reporter: well, jose i actually talked to rnc chairman reince priebus last night in the spin room. he said running as an independent would be a death wish for trump. the person who will win the presidency will ultimately be a republican or a democrat. the reality is though there s a reason why priebus was on the phone with donald trump pretty regularly. he was talking about that as well and that s because frankly it would be in some ways a death wish for priebus if he does in fact get into this race as an independent. republicans are working pretty hard behind the scenes to make sure that doesn t happen but i will say broadly jose there are some questions emerging about how this debate performance is going to affect trump. he s staying in the top of the headlines and possible the rule is going to continue to apply for trump all press is good press. that doesn t usual

because our leaders are stupid. our politicians are stupid. adrian it s an interesting thing. i had congressman castro on a while ago. he said a three-hour visit to the border doesn t make you an expert on it. lot of people however, think when they hear what mr. trump is saying that there s some truth to it. um-hum. yes, you ve heard that before. yesterday you heard him talking about a big, beautiful door that needs to be on the wall so people can come in legally. when you ask how long can he keep this talk up? basically he s been doing this for a while. does anybody think that his poll numbers are going to drop after questioned s performance? he was bombastic, said he brought up immigration first. he s allowed to say silly things and doesn t get called on it. yesterday he wasn t the only one talking tough. ted cruz was also talking very tough on immigration.
