Next week a new splash pad, designed and built in Jessica Starr's honor, will open in Novi. On May 18, the city held a dedication for the new facility, which was attended by family, friends, and dignitaries.

The city recently received a TAP grant to improve the sidewalks for people with disabilities and better connections to transit.

The people have spoken and for the first time in 12 years, Novi has a new mayor. Councilman Justin Fischer has been selected to lead the city for the next four years.

In the Nov. 7 election, voters in Novi will choose a mayor and three City Council members Candidates were asked, in 75 words or fewer, to state their top goal(s) if elected.

NOVI  — The Novi Parks Foundation held its annual Pour on the Shore fundraiser July 28 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Jessica’s Splashpad, which broke ground earlier this summer.

The splashpad at Bosco Fields will have several water features and is expected to be open for the 2024 season.

NOVI — The Novi City Council unanimously approved the purchase of 3.93 acres of land, located at 25901 Beck Road, from Novi Funeral Home LLC, during its regular meeting March 20.

The city will spend $2.1 million to acquire the land on the southwest corner of 11 Mile and Beck.

NOVI — Novi City Manager Pete Auger announced his retirement last month after nearly 40 years of public service, including eight in Novi. His last day leading the city’s day-to-day operations will be Nov. 30.

NOVI — After nearly three and a half years of discussion, the Novi Community School District and the city of Novi have come to an agreement to exchange some of their real estate.
