After 25 years of failure, scientists are taking a new tack.

Friday marked the end of a three-day rescue team exercise on the James River, as seven Central Virginia fire and EMS teams trained together to improve speed and communication during water rescues.

Fire and rescue members from Henrico, Richmond, Chesterfield and Hanover teamed up Friday at Browns Island for water rescue training.
