A Suffolk Superior Court judge has ruled against plaintiffs who had sought to block a plan to renovate White Stadium, handing a victory to the City of Boston and Boston Unity Soccer Partners, which plans to bring a women’s professional soccer team to the city by 2026. A lawsuit brought by the Emerald Necklace Conservancy and 21 residents sought an injunction to stop demolition

City officials have moved to slow down the planned renovation of White Stadium in Franklin Park. Mayor Michelle Wu said on Monday that she remains firmly committed to the plan, but she and other city officials acknowledged during the meeting that the ambitious timetable for starting work and re-opening the facility was now under review.

White Stadium is about to be transformed into a state-of-the-art professional pitch for Boston's new women's soccer club.

Meanwhile, major game devs say fee structure changes haven't won them back.

“Our goal is to build a championship-caliber franchise that the city can be proud of," the ownership group said.

The month-long soccer tournament features 32 teams representing more than 25 nations. Opening festivities will include a parade of nations.
