The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the Spalding area while a yellow alert is in place for the Long Sutton area. Meanwhile the Flood Information Service has alerts in place for the Lower Glen and Bourne Eau system, which runs from Twenty to Surfleet, along with the South Forty Foot Drain, which also covers Donington, Gosberton Clough and Swineshead and Kirton. The Government Flood Warning System says that flooding is possible for the South Forty Foot Drain area, which includes Twenty, West Pinchbeck, Gosberton Clough, Swineshead and Kirton. Flood alerts were were in place for the Lower Welland, Lower Glen and Bourne Eau systems yesterday have now been lifted. Heavy rainfall has sparked the warning (43952894) The flood alert states: Over the last few days we have seen heavy rainfall in the South Forty Foot Drain area. This has caused river levels to rise which has led to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river.

Alerts are in place for the Lower Glen and Bourne Eau, which takes in Pode Hole, Pinchbeck and Surfleet, along with the minor watercourses of the South Forty Foot Drain. The alert states: Lower Glen and Bourne Eau are rising and are expected to remain high for the next few days. We are monitoring the situation and have staff out checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Flood alerts around South Lincolnshire (43712491) Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. We will update this message as the situation changes.
