A recent article in this newspaper correctly described my offices new funding request, but its title misleadingly suggested that Ive requested an additional 26 staff positions. Not exactly. I have requested 16 full-time slots: 10 attorneys, five investigators, and one paralegal. As explained below, the remaining 10 slots simply convert unusual law-clerk contracts funded by settlement dollars into part-time positions authorized by the Legislature, as they should be.

The Boyle Building, the future home for the attorney generals offices, will be renamed to honor the late Bob R. Brooks Jr., Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Wednesday.

Little Rock, circa 1910: Sending the card to Washington state, the writer complained it took six days to get a letter from there. The card is a clever early "photoshop" image of a man soaring over Main Street. In the distant left is what was then National Bank, later the Boyle Building, and which is now being renovated to house the offices of the Arkansas Attorney General.

The Boyle Building has been in downtown Little Rock since 1909, and now, after years of being vacant, community leaders decided to open it back up to the public.
