A week later, there are more questions than answers about how and why the car careened off the street into a tree, killing all six occupants.

When Brad Bartak's daughter said someone had hit their tree, he jumped out of bed, put on his shoes and ran outside to try to help.

Police responded to a collision after an iPhone recording tipped the Lincoln, Nebraska, Police Department off that the owner had been in an accident.

"Ive been with this department for 25 years and cant remember anything as horrible," said LPD Assistant Chief Michen Morrow.

Nick Bisesi, 22, and Jonathan Koch, 22, both died in the early hours of Sunday morning when the Honda Accord they were traveling in smashed into a tree at 2.15am.

"To die at 20 years old, 21, 22 years old — its too young to die," one neighbor said. "Its not right."
