COVINGTON, Ind. — More than 125 vendors will be taking part in this weekend’s Apple Fest.

Signify Health has notified the state that it plans to reduce its workforce by 489 across its footprint, which includes locations in Norwalk plus out-of-state sites in Texas, New York and South Dakota. The layoffs are expected to take effect as of Oct. 1, according to Brad Crain, Signify’s director of employee experience.  Lynn Shepherd​​, vice president, strategic communications for Signify, said 45 of the impacted employees are based in Connecticut.

The compant is just 18 months removed from a $564 million initial public offering.
