and about 50 amjurinjured. good evening thanks for joining us. dan ashley has the night off. we do begin with breaking news. the department of homeland security says there is no evidence of credible threats against music venues in the u.s. following that deadly explosion. the attack may have been carried out by a suicide bomber outside the arena. abc news reporter has the latest. chaos and panic in manchester, england tonight. singer ariana grande wrapping up her performance when witnesses say large blasts rocked the area near the manchester arena box office. the pop star already off the stage as 10s of thousands of people begin running for their lives. cell phone video capturing the terrifying moments as concert goers, many of them teen age girls, are heard screaming. my thoughts are very much with those that have been injured and lost their lives and their loved ones at this terrible time. they say at least 19 people are dead and more than 50 people injured. we
slipping and rolling. crossing fatal injuries to the people inside. now this violent wreck left a busy thorough fair closed for hours. between web and lincoln avenues in alameda. the intersection reopened about two hours ago. although there were injuries. reporter laura anthony is on the story. this surveillance video shows what witnesses describe, a pick up that had been going 50 to 60 miles per hour, careening out of control, flipping down the middle of the road. it was like boom bah. sergio silva heard it from his marshal arts studio a few yards from where the truck landed. a terrifying scene for a little island here. they say the pick up was carrying seven people. one died at the scene, another at the hospital. the other five are in critical condition. the woman inside was not seriously hurt. she was really just scared and shaking, crying. it must have been horrible to see that definitely. saw a car basically roll down the street. this man did not want his
attacked his mother with a baseball bat. when deputies arrived, they immediately made contact with the son, able to detain him, ran into the house and found the motherer with significant head trauma. reporter: neighbors were stunned. people snap on christmas. they kill themselves or somebody else. i m just sad to hear it happened on christmas. reporter: the owner of the book buyer store said she will always be a part of the community. i m just very glad she left books for us to read and it s her legacy and she s going to be able to be known and appreciated for a long time because of that. reporter: matthew salusky remains in the county jail. investigators are not commenting. the family has told community members it is now planning funeral services. live in gilroy, nbc bay area news. and a san jose man has been arrested for killing his wife on christmas eve. police arrested marco arious the same day of the attack and just releasing a few more details. they say he s
