The federal lawsuit filed by an Alexandria man accusing a police officer of excessive force has been settled out of court, days before the officer was reinstated to the department.

Daquarious Brown, the man suing the city of Alexandria because he alleges a now-fired police officer used excessive force against him during a 2019 arrest, is appealing part of a ruling over a motion he filed that sought to force the city to hand over various records.
