A project aimed at renourishing Pass-a-Grille Beach is set to start in early June, shutting down a stretch of the beach for months. Businesses in the area will remain open.

Pinellas County will begin a sand renourishment project at Pass-a-Grille Beach on June 3, right as Hurricane season starts.

Pinellas County collected more than $14.6 million in tourist taxes in March — its most ever in a single month.

The Tampa Bay area is expecting a lot of visitors this weekend with plans to attend Gasparilla and WWE’s Royal Rumble. Visitors are nothing new, and more and more people are coming to the area, setting records.

Tampa Bay area leaders said last year was record-breaking for tourism. Officials with Visit St. Pete/ Clearwater said the area hasn’t seen hotel booking numbers like this since 2019.
