Hubbard County commissioners approved the proposal at their Tuesday, April 16 meeting.

The county board approved the services agreement at their Jan. 16 meeting. It will remain effective until April 30 or until the position is filled.

County board meetings are held at 9 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Hubbard County Government Center, 301 Court Ave., Park Rapids.

Funds are already available for two case aid workers and a child support supervisor position would be funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services by 66%.

Awardees include the North Country Food Bank, the ARCC Emergency Shelter and Kinship of the Park Rapids Area.

The Hubbard County Board, upon the recommendation of a benefits committee, switched its group health insurance from PrimeWest Health to Medica.

The Hubbard County Board will approve budgets, levies, wages and per diem rates with a single motion on Dec. 21.

“We have approximately 18 people, at any given time, in Hubbard County who are long-term homeless that we’re working with,” said Liz Kuoppala, MAHUBE-OTWA executive director.
