In honor of Gallopaloozas 20th anniversary and the 150th Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs sponsored the creation of the 150 full-size horse statues.

Local artists shine a light on the historically overlooked residents of Derby City.

At the Gallopalooza Collection Preview and Unveiling event on March 21, 75 fiberglass statues of life-sized horses and 75 tabletop versions were on display.

In celebration, 150 workers from the Churchill Downs Backside Learning Center made their mark Monday on the statue called "Because of You" or, "Es Por Ustedes."

The citys beautification program is partnering with Churchill Downs to display statues throughout the community from April to October.

The designs for Gallopalooza are encouraged to be Kentucky Derby related since the Kentucky Derby 150 is next year.
