Four suspects convicted of murdering Kayla Sedoskey in an abandoned Monroe County building will be sentenced Thursday.

The Monroe County prosecuting attorney on Thursday announced the sentencings of four defendants convicted of charges in the 2023 homicide of a Monroe woman.

Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Yorkey said there is evidence to suggest that the murder was a "wedding gift" from Kayla Sedoskey's ex Steven Bails to his new wife, Narena Bails.

The man lured the Michigan woman to an abandoned facility, where her killers awaited her, authorities said.

Prosecutors say Brin Smith lured Kayla Sedoskey to the Boysville facility under the impression that they would spend time there alone, instead leading to her death.

Steven Bails, Brin Smith, Kaylyn Ramsey, Narena Bails, Sierra Bemis and Alexander Feko were convicted for their roles in the murder of 23-year-old Kayla Sedoskey

Steven Bails and his wife Narena Bails were arraigned Monday on charges stemming from the murder of Kayla Sedoskey, who was found dead in an abandoned Monroe County building.

MSP says that Steven Bails and his wife Narena Bails were arrested in North Carolina after a standoff with U.S. Marshals.

Sedoskey was found dead in an abandoned Boysville Facility on March 2, 2023.
