NEW ULM — The Heart of New Ulm (HONU)’s Brown County Mental Health and Wellness Action Team is encouraging everyone to use the month of May to start practicing good self-care habits.
“May is Mental Health Awareness month and self-care is so important for good mental health,” said Jen Maurer, coordinator for HONU. “Taking time for yourself and caring for your body and mind should be part of everyone’s daily routine.”
To help people get started, HONU’s Brown County Mental Health and Wellness Team has created a self-care challenge. Using the challenge calendar, participants will fill in each day with their own healthy choice to create their own self-care challenge. Beginning on May 1, participants will work through one healthy choice each day and write it down or enter it on the calendar. Participants are encouraged to tag Heart of New Ulm on social media to share.
