Gibsonburg and Oak Harbor wrestlers continue to be a dominant force in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

Eastwood wrestling made its first trip to the Division III state duals meet, and even though the Eagles lost in the quarterfinal round, they felt confident about the wrestlers chances going into the Northern Buckeye Conference meet and the upcoming individual tournaments.

Eastwood wrestling has been finishing second fiddle to other teams all season, like in the Northern Buckeye Conference, where they were runner-up to Elmwood.

There must be something in the water in Curtice, Ohio. Sure it is an unincorporated hamlet that straddles the border of two counties, Lucas and Ottawa, but the village is producing athletes at a higher rate than some cities.

There is a new king standing at the top of the hill in Northern Buckeye Conference wrestling, and it is Eastwood. Genoa had won seven straight conference championships, crowning 44 individual champions, but that streak came to an end at Woodmore High School.
