Musician Lil Nas X described himself as a "very spiritual young man" which helped him deal with backlash from the his single "J Christ," which upset Christians through his portrayal of Jesus in the song's music video. The artist dressed as the Bible's Noah while playing basketball against Satan in the music video.

For an artist who relished in trolling people with his "Satan shoes," Lil Nas Xs statement seemed remarkably sincere.

"I know I messed up really bad this time."

As the list of those criticizing Lil Nas X's "J Christ" music video continues to grow, Christian rapper Lecrae took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to warn that the openly gay rapper is not only "playing with fire" but also "mocking Jesus."
