Global equity markets have ended the Financial Year 2023-24 on a higher note. Major global equity benchmarks surged significantly and rose up to 44% this year.

Stock market today: Nifty 50 closed with a gain of 156 points, or 0.72 per cent, at 21,853.80 while the Sensex settled at 72,085.63, up 440 points, or 0.61 per cent.

Nifty 50 reaches 22,000 for the first time, while Sensex scales record high of 73,288.78; BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices also hit record highs.

Since November 2023, the Sensex and the Nifty 50 have jumped 14 per cent and 15 per cent respectively while the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices have jumped 21 per cent each.
