(Actually, according to a February 2017 report by  US Weekly, a source close to the family said that she was miserable in the White House, so she s probably not going to miss it one bit.) The soon-to-be former first lady was no stranger to controversy during her four years of sharing the spotlight with soon-to-be former President Donald Trump. In addition to her weird renovations of the presidential manor, she also made some rather odd (read: racist and insensitive) fashion choices, like the obvious sartorial shout-out to Africa s violent colonial past she wore on a safari

Coca wine was fortified wine infused with coca leaves, i.e., cocaine. According to The Drinks Business, the stimulating wine drink initially had the approval of everyone from U.S. presidents to Catholic popes. One such wine was made by a Civil War vet named John Pemberton, who had cooked up his brain tonic as a means to kick the nasty morphine habit he d picked up after being injured in the war. His Pemberton s French Wine Coca also contained an extract of the African kola nut, which is chock-full of caffeine, just to give the cocaine a little kick.

Although a bill to create the holiday was brought before Congress just four days after his death, that dream wasn t achieved for another 32 years.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, a franchise with which he spent over seven decades, tweeted the heartbreaking news the next morning. He was rushed to the hospital after a serious cardiopulmonary arrest late the night before, but doctors were unable to resuscitate him and he died less than an hour later. The team remembered his legacy fondly: Regarded by many as baseball s most popular ambassador, Lasorda spent 71 seasons in the Dodger organization with Dodger Blue running through his veins. Lasorda s wish to see another Dodgers World Championship was fulfilled last October, when he traveled to Arlington, Texas to witness the Dodgers 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 6 of the World Series.

But we all know that s not true, and the scale on which it isn t true is a little mind-blowing. According to the US Department of Justice, the closure rate on 2017 murder cases was only at 62 percent. The rest went unsolved, and that s all contributing to an ever-growing number of cold cases. They estimate that across the US, there s somewhere around 250,000 unsolved murder cases that are still open. That s going up all the time, and law enforcement estimates there s going to be about another 6,000 added to that number every year. It s a huge deal: according to Tom McAndrew, a former Pennsylvania State Trooper, . all unsolved homicides potentially have offenders who have never been apprehended.
