Calgary Collision News Today

One person was taken to hospital following a collision between a semi-trailer truck and another vehicle, closing roads in the Great Plains East industrial area.

A flipped-over semi-truck has closed parts of a major northeast Calgary thoroughfare on Sunday afternoon.

According to a Calgary Police Service spokesperson, a collision involving a pedestrian happened at Edmonton Trail and 16th Avenue Northeast at around 4:15 p.m.

A multi-vehicle collision in southeast Calgary Monday morning left one man in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Three others suffered serious or minor injuries.

Calgary police said two vehicles were first involved in the incident, with a third becoming involved after the first collision.

Police believe a dispute took place between a vehicle’s occupants and a 16-year-old female pedestrian.

According to Carol Henke, public information officer for the Calgary Fire Department, the truck collided with the pole and snapped it off at the base at around 12:06 p.m.

A child was rushed to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in serious condition. Police said the child is now in stable condition in hospital.

According to a Calgary Police Service news release on Monday afternoon, the collision happened at around 7:35 p.m. in the area of Fifth Avenue and Third Street Southeast.

According to a CPS spokesperson, the incident happened at the intersection of Macleod Trail and Fourth Avenue Southeast at around 4:30 p.m.
