Douglas Kyle, a two-time Olympian and founder of the Calgary Marathon and Calgary Track and Field club, has died at age 91.

The family of Doug Kyle is mourning the loss of the 91-year-old pillar of Calgary’s running community who founded the Calgary Marathon and held numerous Canadian records.

Douglas Kyle, who died after a car crash Sunday night in southeast Calgary, founded the Calgary Marathon and won its first race in 1963.
