“Will Brexit have paved the way for a new independence referendum in Scotland?” he asks.
“If it is still too early to call it, the election on this Thursday, May 6, should certainly give food for thought to the European ambitions of a part of the Scottish electorate.”
Catalan media has, unsurprisingly, kept a close watch on events in Scotland, with many Catalan independence supporters travelling to Scotland to campaign for the first independence referendum in 2014.
The region has also attempted to hold an independence referendum, with the Yes side winning with 92 per cent of the vote in 2017, although the poll was declared unconstitutional and suspended by the Constitutional Court of Spain.
JANEY Godley has hit out at George Galloway after he criticised the BBC for making Scotland look and sound like a nation of Janey Godleys and Rab C Nesbits . Godley said it was ironic that Galloway had used the slang word jakey to describe her while he is expecting Scots to vote for his All For Unity party at next month s election. She said people should not vote for a man who hates your working class accent . His tweet said: It’s only a snap-shot because I almost never watch it but: is it the Mission of @BBCScotland to make us look and sound like a nation of Janey Godleys and Rab C Nesbits? It’s excruciating.

In the Asda supermarket in Carlisle the aisles regularly echo to the sound of Scottish accents, as couples do their weekly shop. It is, after all, a much bigger store than most in their neighbourhood.
In the Gretna Gateway Outlets Village, only a few miles away, it was almost impossible this week to get into one of the massive car parks as English shoppers arrived in their droves to pick up the many M&S, Ralph Lauren, Nike and other bargains that are not available at home. It’s far from a great trek, after all, as the centre is only a few hundred yards from the border with their homeland.
1/1 A MAN who posted sinister tweets about murdering George Galloway has been banned from contacting the politician. Alan Tilbrook (pictured below), 63, wrote several threatening comments referring to the controversial All For Unity party leader and posted them on his Twitter page last month. Tilbrook’s messages included: “This man [Galloway] only fit for a bullet thru the brain” and “[Galloway] shud (sic) have been shot years ago mite (sic) happen yet tho”. Tilbrook, of Windsor Park Terrace, Musselburgh, also posted: “You are not a Celt Galloway you are a traitor one day to meet a traitors end.” The comments were reported to the police and Tilbrook appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, where he admitted a charge of uploading threatening messages to social media.
