Ukrainian forces advanced in western Zaporizhzhia Oblast and near Bakhmut amidst reports of poor weather conditions, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its Oct. 9 report. 25 out of 33 Russian Shahed-131/136 combat drones launched from Cape Chauda in the southeastern part of occupied Crimea were shot down overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a Telegram statement released on Oct. 6.

Russia wants to mass-produce a kamikaze drone orders of magnitude cheaper than some of the the western air defense systems Ukraine has to attack it.
