Due to the winter weather advisory, expected high winds and pending weather-related conditions, all after-school activities including student programs and practices are canceled today, Jan. 10, 2024. This includes Capital Kids and all athletic practices, clubs, academic programming and/or sports contest/scrimmages.
UPDATE: Due to weather-related conditions, all schools in the Carson City School District will be closed for the entire day Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, officials announced late Wednesday evening. All employees and students should remain home. No student activities, afterschool programs or practices will occur, including remote instruction.
Capitol FFA traveled to North Valleys High School Feb. 1 in order to compete in the Northern FFA Zone Competition. CHS Agriculture Mechanics, Welding, and FFA Adviser and teacher Rebecca Glocknitzer said, "I know all of our students worked hard to prepare for Zone, and Mr. Mann and I are so proud of their efforts."

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has announced the winning members and team for 2023 during the department’s annual awards event this week. The categories for outstanding dedication and service are Volunteer of the Year, Deputy of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Civilian of the Year, and Team of the Year.
