The seniors of Carson High School will deliver their Senior Project speeches on April 18. Each student must deliver an 8-12 minute speech in front of 4-5 Carson City Community members, and this is no easy task as, statistically, many fear public speaking more than death.

Future Farmers of America provided the venue, Carson High School students voted with their hard earned dollars, and AP Environment and Honors Biology teacher Cort Roseleip was chosen to kiss a goat. Readers must take a look at the photo above to fully comprehend the magnitude of this event.

More than 48 Carson High School Future Business Leaders of America students attended the state conference in Sparks, Nev. this past week. In total, 38 of those students earned 74 “Top-10” placements in 30 separate events.

The Carson City School District is needing local community members to attend the quarterly Community Professional Learning Community, PLC, meeting this Wednesday, Sept. 20, 6 p.m., inside the Carson High School Library.

Internationally traveling band Blood Drum Spirit visited Carson High School on Tuesday to jam with students in Brian Fox’s orchestra classes. But it wasn’t a technical lesson.

The Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation is holding an open house at the Wungnema House Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. There is no admission fee, and all are welcome. The Wungnema House is located on the east side of Mills Park across from Carson High School.
