A 57 year-old Yerington man was booked into the Carson City Jail Friday morning at 9:05 a.m. on a felony outstanding fugitive from justice warrant issued out of the California Superior Court in Riverside County, a Carson City Sheriffs deputy said.

UPDATE: The suspect in Saturdays strong arm robbery is in custody. *** The strong arm robbery happened just before 11 a.m. in the area of Mills Park near the community center. The suspect is alleged to have demanded money from a woman near the Carson City Community Center while holding a large rock.

CARSON CITY — On Monday, former award-winning journalist and Reno resident Ed Cohen filed for Congress as a Democrat in Nevada’s 2nd Congressional district. A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday for suspicion of felony home invasion after being shot in the foot by a homeowner who had attempted to scare the suspect away, according to a sheriffs office booking report.
