Thank you. Parks and Recreation has been leading a series of guided informative hikes along various trails.

The Childrens Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City hosted its Safe Halloween Celebration on Sunday, October 28. There was trick or treating as well as spooky Halloween crafts for kids and their parents.

Nevada Day and the big parade are just one week away, but first is the annual Carson City Ghost Walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Carson City.

Meet at the Carson River Park on the Carson River Road. Bring water, a friend and/or friendly dogs. Walking sticks recommended. Muscle Powered Easy Hike program are hikes of between 2 to 4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain (no more than 500) and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track.

Fall is upon us. While many of us are enjoying pumpkin spiced lattes and carving pumpkins, we are also strolling along the river corridor to look at the changing leaves in our cottonwoods. Fall is a great time to get out and add to our cottonwood population along the river.

The Carson City Fire Department is holding a Green Waste Collection Day this Saturday May 19, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Residents can bring pine needles, pine cones, branches and other vegetation to Carson River Park, located at 5013 Carson River Road.
