Carson Victory Rollers News Today

Carson Citys hometown roller derby team, the Carson Victory Rollers, went toe-stop to toe-stop with Nevada East in a Nevada Day bout organized to raise money for the victims and families of the Oct. 1 Las Vegas mass shooting.

The Carson Victory Rollers, Carson Citys own hometown roller derby team, will play the Lockford Liberators Saturday afternoon, Sept. 1 in a bout doubleheader at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street in Carson City.

Come celebrate 10 years of the Carson Victory Rollers with a scrimmage and after party at the Pour House! $10 donation to watch, wear black and gold (or your favorite CVR shirt) to get half off entry. Doors open at 4pm and First whistle is at 5pm.

This Nevada Day weekend, come see what real Battle-Born warriors Look like. Your Carson Victory Rollers are battling The Lockeford Liberators, Outlaws Roller derby, Floodwater Roller Derby, Sierra Regional Roller Derby, and The Idaho Rebel Rollers in the derby ring for the Silver Skate title.

The Carson Victory Rollers face against the Outlaws from Auburn on April 30th at the Carson City Community Center. Its gonna be a rootin tootin good time so be sure to dress for the theme or wear your favorite CVR or Outlaws shirt. Feel free to make signs and cheer for your favorite skaters, but please no airhorns.

I’m usually a lover of sunny days, but right now I say bring on the rain. The moisture is a welcome help to our heroic firefighters in Lake Tahoe and Washoe Valley. Because of the wet weather and the recent fires, some activities have been postponed: most notably the Advocates to End Domestic Violence’s Annual Light After Dark Run.

It’s nice that the beginning of the school year is almost immediately rewarded with a three-day weekend. You’ll find annual events like Civil War Days in Virginia City and the Best in the West Rib Cook-off in Sparks, in addition to smaller happenings like the monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk and a roller derby double-header.
