Two were arrested Sunday for felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery that the vehicle stopped not only had drugs and paraphernalia inside but had been reported stolen, a Carson City sheriffs deputy report said.

More details have emerged following the arrest Friday of a Dayton man that led to Carson City and Lyon County authorities to recover approximately 60 stolen weapons, a stolen vehicle and narcotics. Three others were also arrested.

A 33-year-old Carson City man faces a felony domestic battery charge after allegedly attempting to strangle his girlfriend. Jared Allen Medejros was arrested at 6:38 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of Menlo Drive. He is being held on $15,000 bail. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the residence for a call of domestic violence.

Jean Marie Hamilton September 11, 1937 – December 3, 2019 Jean Hamilton passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Tuesday Dec. 3rd. Jean married Bud Hamilton on December 22, 1956 in Lindsey, California. They moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1972. Jean always wanted to be a nurse and went to nursing school as soon as all her kids were in school.

A Campbells Creek woman who pleaded guilty to a 2022 arson was ordered, on Feb. 20, 2024, to pay $27,000 in restitution for the demolition and lost income from the MacCorkle Avenue home she burned down. Patricia K. White, 50, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and second-degree arson last summer. Dennis Rutledge, 52, died in the fire White set at 5213 MacCorkle Avenue in January 2022.
