Six years ago, wanting to create an event and space to help celebrate LGBTQ equality, the owners of Sassafras, Tony Fish and Jayme Watts, started the Sassabration, a diversity fundraiser to help support the PFLAG Carson Region, The Ron Wood Family Resource Center and the Carson Animal Services Initiative.

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint will kick-off Father’s Day in Carson City during its fifth annual Sassabration fundraiser event featuring Brunch and Bingo with Bea Arthur, a tribute to the late comedy actress, singer and activist Bea Arthur on Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m.

Both in Carson City and across the nation, restaurants are struggling to find enough staff to work, whether it be in the kitchen or customer service positions.
