It’s Monday, but this week should fly by. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, so you probably want to start thawing your bird. There are still many organizations collecting food for families, so consider dropping off a frozen turkey at Salvation Army, or something non-perishable in one of the many bins around town.
School is out in Carson City and the summer wasted no time in getting started with the fun stuff. Head down to Mills Park sometime this weekend to enjoy the Nevada State Fair, Rendezvous and Carnival. Carson Valley Days is an annual tradition for those who live in the Minden/Gardnerville area.
Child welfare can feel like a cold place for families in crisis. Though efforts have been made through the years to improve this perception, child welfare is still a system of laws that, by their very nature, are unfeeling.
You are invited to the CASA of Carson City Information Hour, Monday, April 10TH at 5:30 pm. We are located in the Family Court Complex at 1539 E. 5th Street. Drive straight in to the back of the parking lot and you will see our big CASA sign on the door.
Since 2018, the Carson City 4-H PJ Drive for Kids in Foster Care has been collecting and donating pajamas to the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Kids’ Closet. We started the Drive to give our little ones a chance to give back to their community in a way that is meaningful them, through giving a cozy pair of pajamas to another child.
