The No. 24 Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball team walloped College of Idaho 97-66 to earn the first Cascade Conference Tournament Championship title in program history. Kiara Burlage and Abbie Johnson led the Warriors with 15 and 14 points, respectively, and were two of five LC players in double-digits. LC State now awaits the announcement of locations and brackets for the NAIA Opening Round. Opening Rounds will be played on March 12 and 13 before heading to Sioux City, Iowa.
Meanwhile the LC State men’s team also took their first Cascade Conference title after defeating College of Idaho 80-71 in their second match-up on Sunday. With their championship win, they also snap C-of-I’s three-year run as Cascade winners. The senior starters got it done for LC State, with Damek Mitchell leading the way with a season-high 30 points. Trystan Bradley got a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Hodges Bailey added 13 and Khalil Stevenson scored 1
