The board of trustees was faced with concerns over the elimination of the fine arts director position, which Bertram says is no longer needed to be an administrative position.

Following the passage of the Bozeman School District’s budget reduction plan, some fine arts supporters remain worried about the long-term impacts of removing the fine arts director position.

The district wants to ask taxpayers to help make up for a budget shortfall in its K-12 general fund.

At the January 9 board meeting, parents and community members took the stand to share their opinions on other recommendations.
