Door-to-door surveillance surveys can provide more precise estimates of how many people are infected with COVID-19 or have immunity to COVID-19 at any given point in time than relying on self-reporting and self-testing, a Cornell-led research group has found.

Surveys tease apart how cat owners’ and veterinarians’ views may each be contributing to overuse of the only long-acting, injectable antimicrobial for use in cats, called cefovecin.

<p>Better education for cat owners, more communication from veterinarians, increased drug choices and cheaper, rapid diagnostic tools can help improve antimicrobial use in cats, which has important implications for rising antimicrobial resistance in animals and humans, according to two new papers by Cornell researchers.</p>

This spring, College of Veterinary Medicine students honed communications skills by creating materials about zoonotic diseases in the course “Veterinary Practice: Public Health.”
