Knoxville School staff received their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, and a majority of school employees are now just two weeks from maximum immunity. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says the timing of the second dose lines up well with the district calendar, as staff will now get all of next week to recover from potential side effects during spring break.

The Knoxville School District staff received COVID-19 vaccines Tuesday through collaboration with Marion County Public Health. Through the clinic, 213 KCSD staff received the first dose of the vaccine. Superintendent Cassi Pearson thanks the team at Marion County Public Health for their partnership, and that district staff were thrilled to receive the vaccine. The second dose is scheduled to be delivered to district staff on Thursday, March 11.

The Knoxville School Board awarded bid packages for the new middle school project at its meeting Monday evening. They awarded bids to Central Steel, Inc., US Erectors, Sandstone Management and Caliber Concrete for structural steel, precast concrete, sitework, site utilities and concrete paving.
