Lee Softball Wins 3-1 Over West Alabama Saturday, April 17, 2021

(photo courtesy of Jordan Allison – UWA Athletic Communications) After dropping the first two games of the Gulf South Conference weekend series with West Alabama, the Lee University softball team posted a 3-1 win in Saturday’s finale to improve its record to 14-18 overall and 11-13 within the conference. With the win, the Lady Flames moved into seventh place in the GSC standings with a one-game lead on Montevallo with two weekends remaining. Delta State and West Alabama follow with 11-16 conference marks.
Behind nine home runs, including three each from junior Nicole Pennington and sophomore Kiley Robb, the No. 3 Valdosta State softball team swept a doubleheader from visiting West Alabama, 10-1 in six innings and 10-0 in five innings Sunday afternoon at Steel’s Diamond at Blazer Park.
