2021 NFCA DII All-Americans revealed

North Georgia pitcher Kylee Smith, a first-team at-large selection, became the 19 th four-time NFCA All-American in Division II. Additionally, she is now in elite company with CSUN pitcher Debbie Dickman (1987-90), Ashland outfielder Sunny Litteral (1996-99) and Lock Haven pitcher Kristin Erb (2006-09) as the fourth Division II student-athlete to earn four first-team honors.   Smith captured Peach Belt Pitcher of the Year accolades for the fourth straight season. She played an instrumental role in the NightHawks’ seventh straight PBC title and sixth berth into the national championship tournament. Missouri Western second baseman Sydni Hawkins was the lone unanimous first-team selection. The MIAA Player of the Year led the league in hitting (.483) and on-base percentage (.522), setting new program marks by 53 and 56 points, respectively.

But this list features nine of the best all-around hitters in DII softball.  To make this group, players must ve appeared in at least 20 games this season. Statistics are accurate through April 19. Hitters are listed in alphabetical order. Bailey Byers, Catcher, Malone Bailey Byers has the second-highest slugging percentage in DII at 1.122. The senior ranks fifth in home runs per game (0.44) and runs scored per game (1.40). Byers also has 11 home runs, an on-base percentage of .573 and is currently batting .524. That average at the plate ranks fourth among hitters that ve played in 20 or more games.

(WALB) - The No. 2 Valdosta State softball team swept the season series with West Georgia on Senior Day with a 5-0 victory in a resumed game from Saturday and a 9-0 victory.  The Blazers hit 11 home runs in the series and outscored UWG 25-0.  VSU extended its winning streak to 18 games, marking the longest winning streak since winning 26-straight during the 2015 season. The Blazers hit .356 for the series with 25 runs scored, 26 hits, two doubles, 11 home runs and 23 RBI.
