The legendary opera La Ville morte, the only opera ever composed by leading music educator and conductor Nadia Boulanger, in collaboration with her mentor Raoul Pugno, will be given its Greek premiere –and only its third ever production worldwide– on the GNO Alternative Stage, at the SNFCC.

The work pays tribute to William Dorsey Swann, one of the earliest LGBTQ+ political activists on record in American history.

After being seen on Broadway in the 2012 revival of Godspell, Celisse has toured with acts like Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews Band, John Legend, and John Mayer. Now, she has partnered with the new company, Catapult Opera, to create a 30-minute opera and short film entitled “When All I Knew Changed.”

Japan Society has announced its upcoming season of live, in-person performances at the Society with programs spanning traditional to contemporary, across the disciplines of opera, theater, traditional noh, puppetry, dance and more, slated for Fall 2022 and Winter/Spring 2023.

NYU Skirball’s fall 2022 season, opening on September 9, will showcase cutting-edge  dance, music, opera and theater premieres from an international roster of artists from the U.S., Belgium,  Japan, Iran, Italy, France, Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast. The season will also feature public lectures,  conversations, literary series and National Theatre Live film screenings.
