This week, KCRW’s Young Creators Project is highlighting the work of two visual artists: Cici Apitz, a senior student at Redondo Union High School, and Kaia King-Hall, a 20-year-old from Venice.

Redondo Beach high schooler Ceci Apitz is out to critique the American food system. Her food sculptures are made using inorganic materials like foam, red solo cups, and toy money and then photographed to show a human element. She joins us to talk about her process, research, and why she used toy dinosaurs to make a hamburger patty.
