The Danish firm now has six firm LNG carriers on order at the Chinese shipbuilder but with more options

Denmark's shipping company Celsius Shipping has hosted a naming ceremony for the latest liquified natural gas (LNG) tanker Celsius Geneva in South Korea.

Celsius Tankers has ordered a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier from South Korean shipbuilding company Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).

Last year was the busiest to date for Celsius Shipping. Purchase and sale of ships have occurred at a slower pace this year, but Chairman Jeppe Jensen still deems 2022 a year with ”good activity.”

Celsius Shipping and chairman Jeppe Jensen can look back on ”the most active year ever.” The shipowner purchased vessels for quadruple the total price fetched from sales. In 2022, two segments are particularly interesting, says Jensen to ShippingWatch.
