Brian O'Donovan, the long-time host of WGBH's popular traditional music program "A Celtic Sojourn" and a leading ambassador of Irish culture in the US, has died at the age of 66 following a long battle with cancer. 

He died in his home Friday after a long battle with cancer, according to a statement from the radio station.

"I try to lure people not just to my program, but into the art of the music,” he once said. “And to do that I have to play something alluring."

The beloved host of the GBH program A Celtic Sojourn Radio continued his program and many events, even after receiving a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer.
