Mexico’s CFE TEIT and multi-orbit satellite player SES have announced the delivery of voice and data services enabled by SES’s mobile backhaul solution to 400 underserved, remote villages and communities across the country via the very high-throughput SES-17 Ka-band satellite.

Satellite networking technology, solutions and services company Gilat Satellite Networks has announced that it has won an award worth millions of dollars in orders for a project in Mexico involving cellular backhaul over satellite.

Axess Networks, a global provider of satellite communications solutions, has announced plans to connect more than 700 new 4G nodes via satellite as part of the CFE TEIT programme, a national development plan in Mexico. TEIT stands for TElecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos or Telecommunications and Internet for All.

CFE-TEIT, the communications subsidiary of Mexicos Federal Electricity Commission, and global communications company Viasat have signed an agreement to provide high-quality satellite connectivity to 850 underserved communities across Mexico.
