Mayor Miro Weinberger responded to the decision on Wednesday, saying in part that the decision has given the city a path to finish the project and open a middle section of the parkway within a year.

A legal challenge to the project was filed in U.S. District Court in 2019. The judge granted a motion for summary judgment in favor of the federal government, which was defending the project.
