PHOENIX - The man accused of
Jonathon Altland, 25, has been indicted on murder, aggravated assault, and auto theft charges. He is accused of killing Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar and severely injuring Gilbert Police Officer Rico Aranda.

Authorities say Altland was driving a stolen vehicle on April 29 when he ran down both officers during a pursuit.
Police say the pursuit started in Eloy when Altland shot at a sheriff s deputy who tried to pull him over.

CHANDLER, Ariz. The funeral for fallen Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar was early Saturday morning.
He was fatally struck after police say a suspect exited the 202 at Val Vista, ran into a car dealership and fled in a stolen car. Officer Farrar was an 18 year veteran of the force.
The service was held at Compass Christian Church on 1825 South Alma School Rd. It was open to the public and got underway at 9:00 a.m.

CHANDLER, Ariz. All you could hear was a low rumble of dozens of police motorcycles as a motorcade and hearse passed beneath an American flag strung between two Chandler Fire Department trucks.
This was the ending point for the procession for fallen Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar, ahead of visitation and funeral to be held at Compass Community Church in Chandler.
