PHOENIX - The man accused of
Jonathon Altland, 25, has been indicted on murder, aggravated assault, and auto theft charges. He is accused of killing Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar and severely injuring Gilbert Police Officer Rico Aranda.

Authorities say Altland was driving a stolen vehicle on April 29 when he ran down both officers during a pursuit.
Police say the pursuit started in Eloy when Altland shot at a sheriff s deputy who tried to pull him over.

Police say the deadly pursuit began near Eloy when Altland fired a weapon at a sheriffâs deputy vehicle after attempting to pull Altland over.
Officer Farrar was struck by Altland while attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle during a multi-agency police pursuit that ended at SanTan Motorplex in Gilbert.
Officer Aranda was also hit, and suffered a severe head injury, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

Suspect in crash that killed Chandler police officer indicted by grand jury
25-year-old Jonathon Altland is facing 32 charges, including first-degree murder, following a police chase on April 29 that ended with a crash on April 30, which killed Chandler police officer Christopher Farrar and injured another officer with the Gilbert Police Department.
PHOENIX - The man accused of killing a Chandler police officer and badly hurting a Gilbert officer has been indicted by a grand jury in Maricopa County.
25-year-old Jonathon Altland is facing 32 charges, including first-degree murder.
Chandler Officer Farrar laid to rest
CHANDLER, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A long-time Arizona lawman who was killed in the line of duty was laid to rest Saturday.
50-year-old Christopher Farrar was struck and killed by a suspect in a stolen car.
Services were held Saturday at the Compass Christian Church in Chandler.
Farrar was an 18-year veteran of the Chandler police force. His distinguished career included the medal of honor in 2004 and four lifesaving awards.
The Chandler Police Chief, Sean Duggan reflects on Farrar s character serving the people of Chandler. Chris had a heart of gold. His personal philosophy was pretty simple. Treat people fairly.
